Can you put solar energy systems on a flat roof?

The solar panels are usually mounted on a frame which sets the panels at the ideal angle and direction to collect the optimum solar energy.

In fact, positioning solar systems on a flat roof can often be a better solution as they are easier to access and can be fixed either directly or by using selected weights to hold the frames down and thus avoid penetrating the flat roof surface.
