The move towards battery energy storage systems (BESS) is gathering pace in the UK as the prices stabilise and the system capacities increase. At Solar UK we install BESS systems alongside commercial rooftop schemes and both ground mount and car park canopy systems.

Exactly what it sounds like; a battery or a bank of batteries that store energy, from either a solar PV installation or from the grid, or both. A BESS can also improve the stability of the electricity grid, manage energy demand, and provide backup power during outages.
